Located in Adams County, 19 miles northeast of Denver. Brighton is home to Barr Lake State Park and offers easy access to Denver International Airport and sits along the banks of the South Platte River. Small town atmosphere with rich historical roots is Brighton’s motto. Brighton was founded in the 1870s as a stage/railroad depot and farming community. The town was incorporated in 1887 and was originally named Hughes Station.
